Governor, Nwifuru Approves Appointments Of 1,454 Persons Into Civil Service, Increases Workers’ Salaries

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has approved the appointments of 1,454 persons into its civil service..

The state Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Mr. Jude Okpor, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the end of State Executive Council meeting held at Ochudo Centenary City in Abakaliki the state capital. Okpor said, “the employment is part of an effort by the State Government to engage capable hands in the state civil service to fill in the vacant spaces in the sector. Council also approved the employment of 1,454 Ebonyians into the state civil service to fill in the vacancies created over the years”, he added..

The Information Commissioner further said the approval of an additional N10,000.00 (ten thousand naira) to workers’ salaries in the State to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the citizens. “The Executive Council led by His Excellency the Chairman of Council approved that N10,000 be added to every worker’s salary in the state to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal”, he said.
