Ogubundu’s Lies: Bursted With Facts (PT1)

By Ohiri Patrick

At a time Senator Uzodinma is yet to address the nation and explain the source of the Seven Hundred and Eighty Six Thousand Dollars ( $786, 000. 00) he spent on a wrist watch, killings, kidnap and arson, harassment of innocent citizens, non payment of salaries and pensions, flooding in major towns and villages of the state, collapse of Concorde Hotel, Heartland FC of Owerri was relegated to a lower league etc,  the desperation in pushing out conjured narratives with no basis in fact or truth does not come as a surprise. The people of Imo are fed up, forlorn and fast looking to be liberated from a regime that was foisted on them in the most unsavoury circumstances!

The author of the recent splurge, Imo: Governor Uzodimma Giving Imo New Positive Status Symbols With Good Leadership And Good Governance, did his benefactor a grave disservice by omitting any facts, or data to buttress his failed attempt at image laundering. Half work is the tell-tale signs of poor workmanship and ineptitude!

Ogubundu in his poorly contrived attempt to launder the image of his benefactors did a poor job and one wonders if he will be able to recover from the untold embarrassment, he has now brought upon the current regime in Imo State by his substandard performance.

To God’s Glory And Blessing Of Ndimo, Imo Is Working And Functioning Again

How anyone can make a claim to say that Imo is working with the high levels of unemployment, misery index, collapse of local government and critical infrastructure, insecurity and urban and rural decay beats the imagination! How is Imo working, when there is capital flight, businesses are shutting down, bloated figures of revenue accrual, absence of the state assembly et al.

…Ndimo Can’t All Be Wrong

It is important to let all know that even on the INEC website, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha is recognized as the duly elected Governor of Imo State! Indeed. the people of Imo were right when they elected PDP and Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha CON, to office. Anything else since then is nothing but an aberration. He stands tall in the consciousness of the people.

…Governor Uzodimma Has Constructed Over 500km Of Urban And Rural Roads

During the Rebuild Imo Administration, over 33 major road contracts were awarded following due process at each and every stage. Leading construction firms, such as CHEC (Forbes ranks CHEC among the 500 leading construction firms in the world) CCECC, Shanid, Zerock, IDC, etc were mobilised to site. In the same vein, construction of 381 KM of road s were flagged under the RAMP II intervention. These projects were mindlessly, without recourse to the people of Imo State, terminated and abandoned. Question now is, where are the 500KM of Urban and Rural Roads completed by Uzodinma, can we see a list of the amounts budgeted, details of the Award process, road quality and contractors handling the roads?

Renovated Primary Health Centres And Schools

Which schools are they claiming to have renovated? What happened to the schools which the Rebuild Imo Administration awarded contracts and commenced renovations under the UBEC scheme? What happened to the statewide health insurance scheme that was launched? What happened to the 4 Technical Colleges that were under construction before the judgement.

Human health and life are too important to be made the subject of conjecture. Where are these renovated health centers and schools, what equipment have been installed to qualify them as renovated? Don’t pictures of these facilities exist and/ or are there no users?

Regularly Paid Salaries And Pensions To All Duly Verified Civil Servants And Pensioners

Prior to the inception of the Rebuild Imo Administration, civil servants at all levels in all the MDAs in the state were paid only at the end of the month. His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON, immediately after his inauguration, in a move that stunned doom sayers, restored the monthly salaries to 100%. He also commenced a comprehensive overhaul/reform of the pension administration in the state. This policy restored normalcy and credibility in the scheme. Pensioners smiled home every home during the administration with bank alerts on the 25th of every month.

During the RebuildImo era, the salaries and pensioners came forward to confirm that they were paid as and when due. Further, there was clarity as to Pension Administration with the onboarding process made known to those eligible across the state. It is common knowledge that this regime does not pay salaries as at when due leading to the several demonstrations by workers from different departments in the states.

In Uzodinma’s regime   what we have in this regime is salaries and pension fraud. Over 60% of workers and pensioners are paid only 60% while 40% are not paid at all at the end if month.

Empowered Women And Youths

The Rebuild Imo administration, youths and women were at the centre of various empowerment programmes – agriculture, ICT, Skills and entrepreneurial development etc. The shame, however, is that the only attempt at youth empowerment by the regime of Uzodinma was to purchase rabbits and share to a few youths. What could be more shameful than that?
