The City-Mun International Model United Nations conference 2023, which stated at the weekend ended on June- 10, 2023 with delegates from Claret Academy Secondary School Area A new Owerri emerging overall best participants.
NewsBits, has followed the story of the participation of the Student delegates of Claret Academy Secondary School Area A new Owerri who were among the different schools that featured in the just ended City International Model United Nations plenary session, which took place in Abuja. The theme of the conference was, ‘Ensuring Universal Access To Affordable, Reliable And Modern Energy Services.’
After the plenary session was concluded, election of key offices of the President, Director, and Secretary General of the City-Mun for the forthcoming 2024 session was conducted, just as the conference was crowned with a dinner night activity where awards and recognition of different categories were given to participants.
Interestingly too, Claret Academy Secondary School Area A, Owerri emerged the overall best school as they claimed the best delegates in almost every aspect of the 2023 conference. Muoghara Onyekachi was elected the next Secretary General for City-Mun 2024, just as Elleora Chukwuka, was elected Deputy Secretary General, and Chioma Chike, who emerged Deputy Director.
The best male delegate was Prosper Ugorji and the best female delegate was Elleora Chukwuka. The best committee delegates were won by Muoghara Onyekachi Joseph, Chike Chioma, and Shelter Okeke, all from Claret Academy Secondary School, Owerri. The name of Claret Academy and the participating student delegates who represented the academy have gone into the history book as champions for City Mun International Model United Nations conference 2023.
