Winner of the keenly contested Osun State governorship elections, which held last Saturday, Senator Ademola Adeleke has received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Adeleke won the election on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He defeated the incumbent governor Gboyega Oyetola of the ruling party, the All Progressive Congress.
The certificate was presented to Adeleke on Wednesday by the INEC National Commissioner, Supervising Osun, Ogun and Oyo States, Prof. Kunle Ajayi. The presentation was held at the INEC office in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Recall that Adeleke polled 403,371 votes to defeat the incumbent Oyetola, governor of Osun State and candidate of the APC. However, there are rumours making the round that the APC may be heading to the tribunal to contest the win.
