The All Progressive Congress, APC has declared it’s governorship primary election in Ondo State inconclusive after receiving reports of the exercise from the 203 Wards in 18 Local Government Areas.
APC held a direct primary election in the South West state on Saturday, 20th April, 2024 to elect their candidate for the 16th November, 2024 Governorship poll. The exercise was marred by allegations of malpractice and violence in some parts of the state while some aspirants called for outright cancellation of the primary election.
However, the Governor of Kogi State and Chairman of the Ondo State APC Governorship Primary Election Committee, Usman Ododo, in a statement signed by him, said the exercise did not hold in the affected Local Government due to late arrival of materials and personnel as a result of logistics challenges.
Ododo says the primary election will now hold in all the 13 Wards of Okitipupa Local Government with total validated registered members of 9,515 from “12 noon on Sunday, 21st April 2024” after which “The final collation of the results will be done” and a winner announced.
