News emanating from England has it that Arsenal have had their latest approach for Wilfried Zaha rebuffed with the Crystal Palace hierarchy holding out for £80million. Palace are refusing to budge on their valuation of the player despite Arsenal submitting an improved offer.
Arsenal, The Independent reports have tabled a bid worth £65m and offered Palace Reiss Nelson on loan as a temporary replacement for Zaha. They claim Arsenal have suggested a £55m cash up front deal plus £10m in clauses. However, the Eagles have informed Arsenal this is significantly short of their £80m demands.
Palace would be interested in taking Nelson on loan following his impressive spell in Germany with Hoffenheim last season, but they are determined not to sell Zaha for any less than what they believe he is worth. Zaha has told the club he is keen to leave for a top-six club this summer but only Arsenal have made an official approach for him. A source involved reportedly told The Independent an agreement between the two clubs is still ‘miles off’.
