The Federal Government has unveiled a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) Academy with the aim of positioning Nigeria as a leader in the global digital economy. Two policemen were shot dead Thursday when unknown gunmen attacked a patrol van at Okigwe in Imo State. The police team on routine patrol were reportedly ambushed and attacked at about 6:30 am on 19/12/2024. The incident happened at Umuluole Junction along the Okigwe/Umuahia expressway. The gunmen numbering over 25 were said to be about 25 in number and were said to have opened fire on the police team with GPMG and Assault Rifles. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed no fewer than 768 personnel for one-month long yuletide special operation within Enugu State. The Sector Commander of FRSC Enugu State Command, Mr Franklin Agbakoba, told newsmen in Enugu on Thursday that that the personnel are made up of 483 Regular Marshals and Officers. A Kano State high court has awarded damages of N8,511,000,000 to Lamash Properties Limited against the Kano State Government, following the demolition of its buildings by state governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. The court also ordered the defendants, including the Kano State Government, Governor Abba Kabir, and the State Attorney General, to pay an additional N10,000,000 to cover the cost of filing the case.
