The support group which worked for Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa’s gubernatorial aspiration in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Odalije Group has dismissed rumours making the rounds that the former guber aspirant contested the Labour Party primary to replace late Barr Oyibo Chukwu.
In a statement made available to journalists in Enugu the group described the rumour as spurious. The statement reads: Our attention is drawn to the spurious story making the round in some sections of the social media that Odalije Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, ex-Federal Permanent Secretary, participated in Enugu East Labor Party (LP) Senatorial primaries to select a replacement for the late Barr. Oyibo Chukwu. To set the record straight:
(1) Odalije Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa did not participate, neither should he have participated, nor would he ever participate, in the Labor Party primaries for the selection of a candidate to take the place of Late Barr. Oyibo Chukwu who was brutally murdered in a despicable and regrettable circumstance while in the pursuit of a legitimate desire to represent the good people of Nkanuland in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
(2) At all material times, Odalije Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa remains a member of PDP and not Labor Party. It would be recalled that Sir Ohaa, to underscore his commitment to the noble ideals of PDP, besides being a member of PDP Presidential Campaign Council, converted his previous gubernatorial campaign office at 37, Park Avenue, GRA, Enugu, to Atiku Presidential Campaign Office for the 2023 Presidential election.
(3) Odalije Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, a loyal PDP man is irrevocably committed to ensuring that Dr. Peter Mba, the PDP governorship candidate, and other PDP candidates win the March 11, 2023, election.
(4) Unknown to the purveyors of the fake news, Odalije Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa was not even in Nigeria at the time of his purported participation in the phantom Labor Party primaries as he is presently in London to attend the ceremony for the enrollment of his son, Dr. Kelechi Ohaa, to the (UK) Royal College of Surgeons of England billed for Monday, 06/03/23.
Against the foregoing backdrop, we wish, therefore, to state, in clear and unmistakable terms, that Odalije Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa is not a member of Labor Party and did not participate in any Labor Party primaries as stated in the asinine publication. The statement was signed by the Head, Odalije Group, Hon. Barr. Emeka Okeke.
