The management of Platinum Lounge, a well-known night club in Bodija, Ibadan, has refuted claims that a Nigerian Civil and Security Defence Corps (NSCDC) officer, Olapade Segun, was killed by a soldier named Abubakar within the premises of their establishment.
They clarified that the incident occurred more than 150 meters away from Platinum Lounge, branding it misleading for the security agency to draw a connection to their venue. In a statement released on Tuesday, they said, “We have been made aware of misleading reports suggesting that a soldier named Abubakar and an NSCDC officer engaged in a heated altercation at Platinum Lounge in the Bodija area of Ibadan.
“It is particularly disheartening that a security agency would mislead the public in this manner. While we extend our sympathies to the family of the deceased NSCDC officer and hope for justice in this tragic incident, we affirm that no NSCDC officer was stabbed to death at Platinum Lounge.
“At Platinum Lounge, we take security very seriously; in fact, we prohibit anyone from entering the premises with any dangerous weapons.”
