The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Dr Ifeanyi Odii has advised the crisis ridden Amasiri and Oso Edda communities in the state to embrace peace.

This was contained in a statement issued and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, by the Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Campaign Council, Chief Abia Onyike.

In the statement, Dr Odii has sympathised with the two warring communities over the crisis in which lives, and property worth millions of naira had been lost. The PDP gubernatorial candidate expressed dismay over the communal conflict, adding that it came at critical period.

Dr Odii, further, called on the two communities to apply restraint, bearing in mind that crisis is an ill wind that blows no one any good, especially as it claims precious human lives. He expressed the hope that peace shall return to the troubled Ebonyi communities and urged the protagonists to shelve their differences and make way for government’s intervention.

Odii, therefore, called on the state government to urgently intervene and forestall further loss of lives and property. He promised that his campaign council shall come to the aid of the affected persons within the shortest possible time.
