The Hon Commissioner Enugu State Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Prof Sam Ugwu has reiterated the Ministry’s readiness to wipe out all forms of waste matter that cause havoc in the environment.
Prof Ugwu stated this when the management team set out for inspection at GRA and Nike Road to ascertain the level of compliance the contractors put in place to keep the state clean. During inspection, the team observed that some of the wastes are not packed in bags but poured out at refuse disposal spots.
At some other places, the contractors were on duty. The Commissioner advised them not to relent in their good efforts to clear all wastes inside dumpsters to avoid people throwing dirt indiscriminately on the ground. The Commissioner stated that for the state to maintain clean and healthy environment, all hands must be on deck to achieve this noble objective.
