The Enugu State Government said it has taken a significant step towards improving the living standards of its citizens by boosting infrastructural facilities across mass housing estates.

Through the Enugu State Housing Development Corporation (ESHDC), the government has introduced a range of amenities, including asphalt roads with drainage, which is ensuring safe and accessible transportation as well as regular water supply.

In a statement issued by the corporation, the government said that it “is installing hybrid energy supply, which is providing a reliable source of power to residents; smart schools; fibre to the home network to deliver high-speed internet connectivity; recreational facilities, which will provide spaces for leisure and community activities and drone security surveillance, that will enhance safety and security through advanced technology.”

The ESHDC also stated government’s commitment in “constructing more new mass housing estates including Coal City Eastern Extension Alliance Estate, Blossom Garden Estate, Elite Estate, University Estate Nsukka, and Sport Island Estate.”

The corporation added that the new estates would have such additional amenities as shopping mall, regular water supply, central sewage system, estate clinic, regular security presence and national grid/solar power which would be providing a reliable and sustainable source of energy

According to the ESHDC, “The government’s goal is to make living comfortable and convenient for its citizens, and this initiative is a significant step towards achieving that goal.” The ESHDC, however, urged residents to take advantage of the government’s initiative to own their property and build their dream homes in the new estates.
