Enugu Technical Govt College, Obollo-Afor, Shines at National Business Challenge

Students from the Technical Government College, Obollo-Afor, Enugu State, emerged top contenders in the recently concluded National Business Challenge targeted at discovery talents through innovation, organized by the BossLadyLaw Business Challenge founded by an international legal and financial investor, Barr Orbby Agwuncha.

The decision to host this year’s competition in Enugu State by the organizers was inspired by Governor Peter Mbah’s outstanding initiative in entrepreneurial education; innovation in technical, vocational training, digital skills and smart education which is re-engineering the face of education in Nigeria.

With the support of Governor Mbah who gave students of the Technical Government Colleges opportunity to compete with their peers drawn from some of the best schools across Nigeria, they were able to showcase their innovative entrepreneurial skills by thinking inwardly and locally and coming up with the rich potentials which cassava has to feed Nigeria and also serve as export product for foreign earnings.

With the innovation and discovery made by the students from cassava flour, quality, nutritious and healthy bread and cake were baked, chin-chin and other snacks produced. The Made-In-Enugu products were replicated by our students, showing that they have already taken ownership of the project and indeed, understood the concept of “Tomorrow Is Here”.

The students were happy to share ideas with their peers in the hospitable and serene Nike Lake Resort made available for their accommodation, relaxation and presentations. Special appreciation to Enugu State Government for ensuring that the students were supported throughout this journey, from transportation, accommodation, logistics to feeding. We encourage them to continue in that pace of entrepreneurship and development.
