Evans Once Fled Anambra To Lagos Because Of Peter Obi

With less than 71 days to the highly anticipated 2023 presidential elections, a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP), Dr. Nse-Abasi Ekanem has come out to give reasons why his candidate, Peter Obi is the right man to deal with Nigeria’s myriad of security challenges and restore peace to the various regions of the country.

Speaking during an interview on Television Continental’s ‘Breakfast Show’ on Thursday morning, Dr. Ekanem, who is the Publicity Secretary for the Labour Party in Lagos, explained that while Obi served as Anambra governor from 2007 to 2014, his state was among the safest in the country as a result of his war against criminality.

To buttress his point, the Labour Party Chieftain alleged that notorious kidnapper, Chukwudumeje Onwuamadike, popularly known as ‘Evans’, once confessed that he had to flee Anambra to Lagos because Obi’s administration was too tough on crime in the state.

He said, “In the area of the rule of law, Peter Obi was known to have fought insecurity to the point that the likes of Evans, the criminal, and kidnapper, confessed in his words that he left Anambra state because of the security infrastructure that was put in place by Peter Obi. The same Evans came to Lagos and began to thrive, so much so that even my senior colleague was kidnapped by this same guy. He thrived in Lagos but couldn’t succeed in Anambra.”
