Fire Burns Governor Mbah’s Pinnacle Oil Petrol Station In Enugu

By Tony Adibe

The popular Pinnacle Oil Petrol Station on the ever-busy Agbani Road, Enugu owned by Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah has been hit by a fire disaster. The cause of the fire said to have started a little bit before mid-day on Friday, from a vehicle parked within the premises of the fuel Station is yet to be ascertained as of the time of writing this report, although there are speculations that the incident could be the handiwork of mischief makers.

A video clip of the fire disaster circulating on social media, showed a vehicle on a raging fire, apparently the main source of the fire. Also, there were young men in confusion shown in the video, struggling to push out a Toyota Sienna car from the station while the fire raged. The young men were heard shouting (in Igbo) at people, apparently passers-by, asking them to steer clear as they pushed the vehicle (not the one on fire) out of the troubled fuel Station.

Yet, some other voices heard on the video were asking for help, wondering where the staff of the filling station had gone. Still in the video, amidst all the confusion, the tyre of a speeding vehicle was also heard screeching on the tarred road, possibly, missing crashing into another vehicle.

People were also seen running helter-skelter in the video which lasted for a short while. However, as of the time of writing this report, security agents and personnel of the Enugu State Fire Service have barricaded the road, having put out the fire, apparently without much destruction to the petrol station. Meanwhile, the state government and the police are yet to issue a statement on the fire incident.
