Intelligence Assessment Examinations (IAE) have been introduced by Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu. The intelligence assessment tests, which will be for the final year students of the university will commence this year with the Law students.
The Intelligence test which will commence in May this year, will be quantitative, qualitative, and simple logic. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, who announced this while addressing the students and staff of the university and its group of institutions, explained that the aim of the policy “is to prepare the students for job, scholarship and other competitive interviews.”
Professor Anieke said the intelligence assessment examination will be computer based and there would be no room for malpractices as the examinations will be closely monitored.
The Vice Chancellor advised students aspiring for 1st class, Best All-Round Students and Vice Chancellor For One Day as well as those expecting foreign scholarships to study well as failure in the intelligence examinations will lead to the reduction of the student’s CGPA.
“l want to tell you, my dear students that plagiarism tests have also been introduced by the University,” said Professor Anieke, who also stressed that “from this year, all final year projects of the students including postgraduate students would be subjected to plagiarism test.”

Projects found to have more than 25 percent of copying from other works will be cancelled and the student made to repeat the work, and pay another school fees, according to the Vice Chancellor, who further warned that “no final year student will defend his or her project without clearance from the University Librarian.”
Professor Anieke explained that the improvement in dressing by the students of the university but warned that “after the Easter celebrations, any student found to be improperly dressed will be disciplined.” He tasked students of other faculties to always emulate those in the faculties of Law and College of Medicine.
He said: “There should be no segregation in dressing by students and staff of faculties in the group of institutions. Every student must be proud of the course he or she is studying.”
Professor Anieke, however, announced that faculties “will henceforth be ranked according to their compliance with the university and its group of institutions code of dressing,” stressing that “any faculty that comes first in the ranking will receive N100,000 naira while the worst faculty will pay the N100,000 naira.”
He explained that there would be no holidays during the Easter celebrations but granted breaks for the staff and students whose parents are resident in Enugu, even as he emphasised that the students must get approval before leaving the campus.
Meanwhile, a four hundred level student of English and Literary Studies, of the GO-UNI, Vitalis Chinemerem Iloanusi has won a brand-new car for emerging the Best Student and Vice Chancellor for One Day of the university this year.
NewsBits learnt that the Car will be presented to the lucky student from the Faculty of Education of the institution on May 5, 2023. Professor Anieke announced this during general prayers for staff and students of the university.
The VC explained that the car was a fulfillment of a promise by one of the supporters of the university. He lauded the winner of the car for excelling in his academic programmes, and expressed gratitude to the donor for living up to his promise.
