Security operatives have arrested a gospel singer, Timileyin Ajayi, for allegedly beheading his girlfriend, Salome Adaidu, in Nasarawa State. Reports said that security operatives apprehended the gospel singer at an uncompleted building in Agwan Sarki, Orozo in Nasarawa State, near the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, where the severed head was found in a polythene bag.
During interrogation, Ajayi, who also poses as a motivational speaker on TikTok, confessed to the crime. In a now-viral video, the singer disclosed that he had dated Adaidu for one year before her death. He added that they engaged in a heated fight and she tried to stab him with a knife.
Ajayi, who released his album ‘God of the Earth’ in 2020, also said that the rest of the victim’s body was at his residence.
Speaking on the incident in a post on Facebook, a man identified as Caleb Umaru, a member of the Nasarawa community, wrote: “I got the shock of my life as we apprehend(ed) a Yahoo ritual(ist) with a human head (his girlfriend) inside a nylon close to our church as we were holding service.
“I thought I just used to watch things like this until I experienced one ‘Live’ today. This guy said the remaining body of the girl is still in his house. God have mercy on this generation.” The Nasarawa State Police Command had yet to react to the incident as of press time.
