The leadership of Initiative for Eradication of Poverty and Empowerment of the Disabled, (IFEPED), an NGO has said that they are determined to hold End of the Year Party as well as support for People Living with Disabilities, (PWDs) in Nsukka, Enugu North Senatorial Zone of Enugu State.
IFEPED President, Victor Ugwu who disclosed this in a release made available to newsmen in Enugu weekend said, the end of the year/get-together party, would have been held on December 3rd to coincide with the commemoration of the International Day of the Disabled.
Ugwu said since they could not do the party, they decided to set out a date for the celebration which will afford their members the opportunity to interact with one another and the invited guests. According to him, at the forthcoming event, its zonal Patrons would be inaugurated while gifts would be doled out to members to enable them to enjoy the Yuletide more abundantly.
Ugwu said: “We decided to set aside Friday, 16th December to hold the end of the year party at Adada Hall in Nsukka LGA for our members. We would have held the party on December 3rd, being the International Day of the Disabled but for logistics problems, we decided to defer it.
“We use this medium to invite all our members especially those from Enugu North Senatorial Zone, the Nsukka cultural Zone to come and grace the occasion.”
The president, however disclosed that subsequently, the party will be held for all the Disabled in the other Senatorial zones, Enugu East, and Enugu West respectively to inaugurate zonal Patrons. He said: “After the Nsukka End of the Year Party, we shall organise same for the other senatorial zones in the State.”
