Operatives of Osun Amotekun have arrested one Babalola Timothy, 35, for kidnapping a married woman, Sofiyat, 35, allegedly using a charmed ring on her.
The suspect was said to have used the said ring to command the victim from her marital home in Ode-Omu, Ayedaade local government area of the state to relocate to his place in Modakeke, Ife-East area office, keeping her for three weeks.
He was said to have locked the woman in a room and having sex with her randomly and providing her with food early in March. According to Osun Amotekun Corps Commandant, Bashir Adewinmbi, the suspect, on March 29, decided to release his victim from where he held her hostage and drove her to Campus area before dropping her.
“The victim raised alert which attracted Amotekun operatives in the area. She narrated her ordeal and the operatives swung into action. They later traced the suspect to Sekona, where he was arrested on Monday, April 1”. Under interrogation, Adewinmbi added, the suspect confessed to the crime, saying the victim approached him on business ground to help get customers for her palm oil business.
But the suspect later asked her out and she refused the move on the ground that she is married but decided to employ the service of a cleric who gave him some charms with which he brings the woman under his control. He added that the suspect has been transferred to the Department of Security Service for further interrogation and prosecution.
