Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it has deployed 1,750 personnel in Kano State, to facilitate a hitch-free Eid el Fitr festivity across the state. This is contained in a statement issued by ASC Ibrahim Abdullahi, the spokesman of the command on Tuesday.
The statement said that tactical operational personnel would be deployed to Eid praying grounds and recreational centres in the 44 Local Government Areas of the state. It said the corps emergency response unit and medical team were also equipped for effective disaster management and response services during the festive period.
According to the statement, the measure is to secure lives and property during the Sallah celebrations. While reiterating the commitment of the command to work in synergy with other security organisations, Abdullahi urged Kano residents to be vigilant and report suspicious movements and persons to security agencies.
