The emergence of unscrupulous elements who are hiding under Peter Obi to cause havoc in the society is beginning to threaten the chances of Peter Obi’s presidential aspirations.
It is no longer News that a good number of persons have decided to give Peter Obi a try in 2023 election, but the emergence of expired politicians, greedy serial losers and people on vendetta, who are bent on hiding under Peter Obi, have become the bane of the expected new era come 2023 as many Nigerians are beginning to discreetly withdraw their support, especially after seeing the calibre of persons who are asking for the vote of the people while violating our Electoral laws at the time INEC is yet to give a go ahead order for political Campaign.
It has been noted that the warning by INEC for individuals not to go against the electoral guidelines for campaign has continued to be violated with impunity through barrage of insults to anyone that dare say anything against the aspiration of the impostors and their hirelings, who now sleep on various social media platforms to terrorize the sanity of others, thereby raising a high probability of their intent to pitch Peter Obi against INEC and law enforcement agents.
Meanwhile, this is coming after the warning by the President of Nigerian Labour congress, Aliyu Wabba, that all they know is Peter Obi, as according to him, “all we know is Peter Obi, since we know that majority of the failed politicians, especially those who have been rejected so many times by other political parties, including immediate Communities, have re-sorted to hijacking Obi’s goodwill for a come back.
Our survey has shown that, majority of this gang of desperados appears to come from South East of Nigeria, where totally and outrightly rejected individuals, who have been rejected in House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate or Governorship, have taken over the media to either malign genuine political leaders, with the highest embarrassment as the one meted on one of Imo State finests, former Governor of Imo, HE Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, whom they tried to ridicule with propaganda and blackmail in such a manner that displayed their high level of desperation and re-sort to impunity. For them, it is either they get what they want or destroy the Peter Obi presidential ambition.
Fortunately, the Igboland is made up of people with high level of intellect and cannot be deceived by mere rabble rousers who have continued to exhibit their grammatical sophistry without providing any track record of past or present performance (s) or proof of what they have done or intend to do for the people or community to warrant such electoral patronage.
It has therefore, become pertinent to advise our people to be careful and guard against the antics of those bitter politicians on vendetta, who are parading themselves as Peter Obi’s men, whereas their only intent is to destroy accomplished Igbo sons of repute. It should be stated without equivocation that any support for such characters who have re-sorted to coming through the back door will be tantamount to impeding the political progression of the Peter Obi’s candidacy and therefore should be seriously guarded against.
They attack and threaten every known or suspected opposition to their greed and emergency aspiration while forgetting that the beauty of politics lies in the opposition. Unlike Obi himself who has displayed high level social and moral decorum in his campaign consultations, he has refused to be combative, aggressive or desperate in order not to destroy the political milestone already achieved in the South East and beyond. It is therefore expected that any of his genuine followers and supporters should tow the line of decency in propagating their support.
Like it is said and widely believed too, “the taste of the pudding is in its eating”, this men has proved through their actions that they are not only self seeking, but also over ambitious and rudely desperate for power and position. Common sense therefore infers that we the Igbos, and by extension other Nigerians should be mindful of the type of politicians we lend our support to, hence the need for us to be scrupulous in discerning the antics of all who come to present themselves to us, pretending to be Saints or Messiahs, whereas they may eventually turn out to be the proverbial wolves in sheep’s clothing, because it is often said that, ‘all that glitters is not gold’. A word is surely enough for the wise, let’s rise above petty sentiments and stand up for who and what we know rather than assume the possibilities of the impossible.
