A Human Rights Group, New-Life Community Care Initiative (NELCCI) in conjunction with African Law Foundation (AFRILAW) would on November 25Th, commence the 2023 edition of 16 Days activism.
Executive Director, NELCCI, Florence Ifeanyi Aneke disclosed this to newsmen in Enugu. The theme of this year’s edition is “Unite to invest on campaign to reduce gender- based violence,” NewsBits reports.
She said they paid a courtesy visit on the Enugu State Commissioner for Children and Gender, Ngozi Enih, to discuss the 16 Days of activism.
Aneke explained that the 16-Day activism “is an annual event set up by the United Nations to end all forms of violence against against women and girls”, adding that they have activities lined up for 16 days .
She said the activities include seminars on gender-based violence, road show, talk about gender-based violence. “We are going to be talking to the public against gender-based violence, to eliminate it,” the Executive Director said.
Aneke said the program will take off at Okpara Square and will end on December 10, 2023, World Human Rights Day. She was accompanied by Chinwuike Okereke of the AFRILAW.
