Shehu Sani Bashes Reward Of Ex-Service Chiefs With SUVs After Poor Showing

Human rights activist and former federal lawmaker, Mr Shehu Sani has condemned the alleged humongous severance packages handed to the ousted Service Chiefs despite their poor performance on their various previous jobs.

The former senator made this known in a post via a recent tweet on his social media page. Shehu Sani in the now-viral post, wondered why the ex-Service Chiefs should be rewarded with such enticing benefits by the Nigerian government after leaving the citizens of the country in the hands of terrorists and bandits.

His reaction followed reports that the Chief of Defence Staff and the other Service Chiefs got bulletproof Sport Utility Vehicles (SUV), personal aides, guards, and other perks of office, including generous allowance for medical treatment abroad, as retirement benefits.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle, he wrote: “The other service chiefs left us with terrorists and were rewarded with ambassadorial appointments; these ones left us with bandits and were rewarded with SUVs.”

President Bola Tinubu sacked all Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, Advisers and the Comptroller-General of Customs, a few weeks after his inauguration on May 29. The former Lagos State governor also replaced them with new appointees.
