What Is Stroke?

A stroke occurs when there is a disruption of blood flow to the brain, either due to a blocked blood vessel (ischemic stroke) or bleeding in the brain (hemorrhagic stroke). This interruption deprives the brain of oxygen and nutrients, leading to damage or death of brain cells. Strokes can result in various neurological symptoms, including sudden numbness, weakness, confusion, trouble speaking, or difficulty walking. Seeking prompt medical attention is crucial for effective treatment and minimizing potential long-term consequences.
