The assault and brutalization of NLC National President, Joe Ajaero at Owerri where he went to support the Imo State trade unions that are struggling with Imo State Government oppression of the workforce, was a well organised arrangement of Federal government with Imo State government to intimidate Labour Union leadership and warn Ajero in particular of the maltreatment and threats to his life if he dares confront federal government.
It was agreement for Uzodima to be used to test run the bullying preparedness of federal government against labour unions using political thugs and the Nigerian police and for federal government in turn support Uzodima to rig him into office. The massive rigging of Imo State governorship elections on Saturday with full backing of police and INEC was a confirmation of this unholy alliance. Governor Uzodinjo that is the most unpopular governor of Imo State ever had, ended up winning all 21 LGA, including where elections did not hold.
Those in control of the Federal government are aware of Nigerians high level resentments against anyone being Igbo who comes to the national limelight, hence the emergence of Ajaero as NLC is going to be dilemma and a national disaster because Nigerians in their zeal of Igbophobia, will destroy NLC which is the only great opposition they will have to resist Tinubu tyranny that is just booting.
Tinubu knows he has no national legitimacy; hence he will do two things to remain in power. First, he will try to compromise all institutions of government such as security agencies, judiciary, and mass media. He will also try to compromise nongovernmental institutions like trade unions, civil society organisations, traditional and religious institutions, including political parties’ leadership.
His second line of action will be to hunt everyone in these agencies and institutions who refused to be compromised and continue opposition of his oppressive policies. Many will be missing, others will experience strange deaths, others will experience the destruction of their business, kidnapping, extreme blackmail etc. Then it would be too late to fight back.
In this scenario of declaring war against opposition, his self-protection instinct is to be a tyrant dealing with opposition and perceived enemies of government. The mistake of Nigerian citizens are making now is that the oppression and incarceration posture of federal government against Ajaero will belittled, undermined, supported because of Ajaero ethnic origin. No one will realise that it is NLC as an institution that is being suppressed, silenced, assaulted, and oppressed. Hence, this strike to deter and warn the federal government that it cannot maltreat, and silence labour unions leadership will be sabotaged. It will fail because of ethnicity Igbophobia, thereby empowering Tinubu regime to suppress and silence trade unions and no one will dare resist his obnoxious policies. When that time comes, Nigerians will realise their mistake, but it will be too late, because we have destroyed NLC because of ethnicity Igbophobia. Ajaero will not be the loser, but the Nigerian citizens who in ignorance and their zeal of Igbophobia, will not support the NLC at this crucial time.
If you know Ajaiero personally advise him to preserve his life, his being Igbo will be a great hindrance for him to fight for Nigerian workers, , that even if those in authority boldly decide to kill him, Nigerians will rejoice over it because of his ethnic origin. If he doubts me, even the military regime never assaulted NLC president, because they know it is affront to the trade unions. But Tinubu and his appointed police leadership did it, and when the NLC simply demanded for the prosecution of those police officers and political thugs who committed assault and battery against NLC president, yet Federal government reaction was to cover them up, claiming to be investigating over an issue they planned with Uzodima in exchange to rig him back into office the second time.
The summary of my position is that Nigerian society will certainly destroy itself on account of ethnic Igbophobia because they will keep on undermining their collective national interest thinking that they are undermining the people of the Southeast extraction. Typical example was the last 2023 general election whereby for the first time, Nigeria was about getting right to elect candidate with proven integrity, capacity, and zeal to rebuild a country whose national political culture and leadership system have become criminal enterprise; yet on grounds of ethnicity Igbophobia, criminal gangs are imposed on the country. The eight years of Buhari regime disaster didn’t serve as enough deterrence to Nigerians to end ethnic Igbophobia and start to building a country of competent leadership, integrity, equity, fairness, justice, productivity and peace.
Nigerians you may go ahead to blackmail and sabourtage NLC on account of ethnic Igbophobia to your detriment. I warn you all, tyranny is just booting, except you back up NLC , give them teeth to bite and restrain this coming tyranny of Jagabanism leadership; more poverty , more corruption, evil policies, police brutality, imprisonment, oppression and extreme wickedness will be experienced in the coming months.
