A domestic worker has confessed to being involved in the murder of Aribemchukwu, the daughter of Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, according to an exclusive police source on Thursday.

The victim, known as Chuchu, was reportedly killed in her Parkview Estate residence in Ikoyi, Lagos State. While family sources indicated she was killed Tuesday night, her body was discovered Wednesday morning outside her residence’s gate.

Three domestic employees—a house help, a security guard, and a driver—were arrested in connection to the murder. During interrogation, the house help confessed to the crime, according to a police source who requested anonymity.

The source revealed that the murder occurred inside the victim’s room and that her body was dragged outside the gate to create the illusion she was killed there. The suspects attempted to clean the blood stains but missed some spots due to the crime occurring at night.

“The deceased was killed in her room and her body was dragged to the front of the gate to make it look like she was killed on the spot. After that, all the blood stains were carefully cleaned but still, they missed some spots. They did not clean it well because it happened at night,” the source said.

The house helps reportedly did not deny the crime, stating, “We do am, na we do am,” during interrogation, which matched the evidence found. The suspects were also said to have packed all the deceased’s valuables after the murder.

The source confirmed that the three domestic workers were employed just a week before the incident. Aribemchukwu was a doctor and had recently married before her untimely death.

The State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin stated that investigations are ongoing and updates will be provided as more developments arise.
