The tally of Nigeria’s confirmed Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases on Saturday rose to 15, 682 as 501 new infections were announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). The centre also announced that eight deaths were recorded from the virus on Saturday June 12, 2020 bringing the total number of confirmed deaths from the virus to 407.
The NCDC in their Twitter handle updated on Saturday night said the new cases were reported in 24 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. As of the time of reporting, 35 states and the FCT have recorded at least a case of the disease. Only one state, Cross River, is yet to report any case of the virus but Lagos State recorded the highest daily figure of the infection. The state also remains the epicentre for the virus in the country.
Nigeria now has 15682 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 5101 discharged patients and 407 deaths.
