Ondo State: INEC Declares Rotimi Akeredolu Of APC Winner Of Guber Election

Re-elected Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr Rotimi Akeredolu winner of Ondo gubernatorial election, which held on Saturday October 10, 2020.

Akeredolu beat his closest rival Mr Eyitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who also lost to him in the previous election. The final result showed that the All Progressive Congress (APC) party, which has the incumbent Rotimi Akeredolu polled 292,830 to beat Ehitayo Jegede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 195,780.

INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, who declared Akeredolu winner, said he had met all conditions required to be returned as governor-elect in Ondo State.
