Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu state has nominated six new commissioners as part of the ongoing changes in the State Executive Council. In a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the governor has forwarded the names of the nominees to the Enugu State House of Assembly for confirmation.
Those nominated include Benjamin Okoh, Prof. Benedeth Okoli, Enyinna Ogbonna, Dr. Samuel Ogbu-Nwobodo, Prof. George Ugwu and Ben Collins Ndu Jr. Governor Mbah also approved the appointment of Dr. Godwin Anigbo, as the new Head of Service for the state. According to the SSG, the appointment of the HoS takes immediate effect.
Meanwhile, Adaora Chukwu, daughter of former Governor Sullivan Chime, has announced her resignation as Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Industry. Although no reason was given for her resignation, it came at a time the governor is making key appointments apparently to inject new blood into his cabinet.
