The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the temporary shutdown of its result checker portal for candidates who sat for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
In a statement released on X on Wednesday, the regional examination body cited technical issues as the reason for the closure, but assured the public that access to the portal would be reinstated shortly. The statement read, “WAEC hereby informs the general public that the result checker portal @waecdirect.org is temporarily shut down due to technical issues.”
WAEC further reassured candidates, stating that it is “working assiduously to ensure that candidates are able to access their results in the next 24 hours. Please bear with us.” This development occurred just two days after the release of the 2025 WASSCE results, which were for examinations conducted between April 24 and June 20, 2025.
