The Deputy President, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Amb. Innocent Nduanya has condemned the brutal assault on a corps member serving in Anambra State. There was outrage on Tuesday following the release of a video showing the attack on the female corps member and her colleagues.
NewsBits reports that the National Service Corps, NYSC, also expressed condemnation over the attack and demanded justice for the victim, identified as Edema Elohor Jennifer, serving at Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, where the incident occurred.
Also reacting, Nduanya described it as a barbaric act against an innocent young girl. “I call on the Government of Anambra State to immediately bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure they are prosecuted without delay.
“Such archaic and primitive behavior has no place in the 21st century. The Federal Government must also act swiftly to curb the excesses of these so-called security outfits and protect the lives of our young people. The youths of Nigeria will not remain silent in the face of injustice. Enough is enough,” he vowed.
