Residents of Anambra State and some parts of Enugu State are going to experience a power outage tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday, September 1, 2025.

The Group Head, Corporate Communications of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC), Mr. Emeka Ezeh, made this known in a statement issued on Saturday. Eze explained that those affected are customers in Anambra State as well as Oji River and adjoining communities in Enugu State.

He said the planned outage is scheduled for Sunday, 31st August 2025, to Monday, 1st September 2025, between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm daily. According to Ezeh, “This exercise is necessary to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) maintenance crew to replace faulty overhead stack porcelain insulators at its 330kV switch yard in Awada.

“Consequently, electricity supply to customers in the affected areas will be interrupted during the maintenance period.” The Disco expressed regret over the inconvenience the outage may cause, adding: “We appeal for our customers’ understanding, as the exercise is aimed at improving and enhancing the quality of service.”
