Armed herders/militia
Suspected herdsmen/militia have again launched a bloody attack on a community in Benue State, leaving many indigenes dead. The incident occurred in Anwule community, Oglewu, Ohimini Local Government Area, Benue State.
Locals disclosed that the attackers targeted farmers while they were working in their fields, killing several with machetes and other weapons. The assault has forced residents to flee their homes, seeking refuge in neighbouring communities, sources told The Advocate on Tuesday.
As of the time of filing this report, the exact number of casualties has not been established, but residents said many people were murdered. The Benue State Government and the police are yet to comment on the reported attack.
