A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its Ekiti State Governorship primary, earlier scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025, citing logistics challenges.
In a letter dated November 6, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the party informed the commission that a new date for the exercise would be communicated later.
The letter, jointly signed by the Acting National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdulrahman Muhammed, and the National Secretary, Senator Samuel N. Anyanwu, stated that the postponement became necessary due to logistic reasons constraining the exercise.
“We wish to inform you that the PDP Ekiti State Congress and Governorship primary slated for November 8, 2025, has been postponed due to logistic reasons. A new date will be formally communicated when decided,” the letter read in part.
NewsBits reports that the faction is loyal to Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
