President Bola Tinubu held a behind-closed-door meeting with the Sultan of Sokoto, Sultan Muhammad Sa’adu Abubakar.
NewsBits reports that the meeting was held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Tinubu’s Special Assistant on New Media, Dada Olusegun, confirmed the meeting in a post on his X handle. Olusegun stated that it was part of wide consultations with religious and traditional leaders.
He wrote alongside a video clip of the meeting: “As part of wide consultations with Religious and Traditional leaders, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Sultan Muhammad Sa’adu Abubakar at the State House today, just a few days after meeting Bishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, the Archbishop of Abuja.”
It could be recalled that earlier in the week, President Tinubu met with the Archbishop of Abuja, Bishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama. This comes amid allegations of genocidal killing of Christians in Nigeria. President Donald Trump of the United States had threatened military action in Nigeria if the alleged killings continued.
