The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Anambra State, Chief Bar Ifeatu Obi-Okoye has reportedly made history by delivering and producing two Governors from two different political parties, a feat that has never been achieved by any party Chairman in the history of Politics in the state.
Obi-Okoye was Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2003, who delivered Sen Chris Ngige as governor of Anambra state, and 23 years after he delivered Gov Charles Soludo as Chairman of APGA.
He had been the National Publicity Secretary of APGA for four years and later became the political adviser to the then Governor Willie Obiano before becoming the Chairman of the party.
Speaking to this reporter, Obi-Okoye described the achievement as Devine adding that only God Almighty can do that, adding that it is a product of consistency and focus as an experienced politician.
“I can only give it to God Almighty for these twine achievements, and it is not by my strength but God only.”
“I have been in politics for more than three decades now and I have been consistent in politics, and I also appreciate the assistance and contributions of my colleagues in this carrier to have also groomed me in one way or the other.”
Obi-Okoye, however, noted that it is to his credit that the two Governors that he produced made strong statements in the governance and socioeconomic development of Anambra state.
“I must say that the two Governors who won elections under my watch as Chairman of both the PDP and APGA impacted positively on the lives of Anambra people in terms of socioeconomic development, and I give God the glory,” he said.
