Nyesom Wike
The Minister for Federal Capital Territory, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has reacted humorously to his expulsion from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike was expelled from the PDP on Saturday at Ibadan, Oyo State, where the party held its national convention in defiance of two court orders against the convention.
Wike’s Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Public Communications and Social Media, Mr Lere Olayinka, who reacted for his principal through a Facebook post, mocked the convention, alleging that delegates were more interested in festivities than serious political decisions.
“They went to Ibadan to start dirty December in November. When people decided to start their own dirty December in November, one can’t help but ignore whatever comes out of their mouths. They gathered in Ibadan to do a social party, enjoyed themselves, and got intoxicated. They are free to say anything,” Olayinka stated.
The ongoing PDP National Convention, being held in Ibadan, Oyo State, expelled Wike, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, alongside ten (10) other members of the party, on Saturday.
Others affected include former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Hon. Umar Bature, Adeyemi Alibade, Mohammed Abdulrahman, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, Hon. Austine Nwachukwu, Abraham Amah, George Turner, and Chief Dan Orbih.
