Nigerian FG Orders Closure Of 41 Federal Unity Colleges

The Nigerian Federal Government has ordered the immediate shutdown of 41 Federal Unity Colleges across several states due to rising security threats.

The directive, issued by the Federal Ministry of Education, follows recent attacks and abductions in schools across the North. Principals of affected schools have been instructed to comply immediately.

Why The Closure?

Due to renewed attacks on schools, including recent abductions in Niger and Kebbi States. The government says the move is to prevent further breaches and protect students. President Tinubu has deployed defence officials to oversee rescue and security efforts.
