Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has directed his lawyers to withdraw all lawsuits he filed against some Nigerians. The suits, which essentially bothers on alleged defamation, include those he filed against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Akpabio gave the directive at a service to usher in the New Year, 2026, at Sacred Heart Parish, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The decision was taken in the spirit of the New Year.
He said, “I had almost nine cases in court against some individuals who defamed me, who lied against me, who slandered my name.
“But I listened to the priest and suddenly realized he was talking to me, so I hereby direct my solicitor to withdraw all lawsuits against them.”
Akpabio has been in court with Natasha after the latter accused him of sexual harassment, which he vehemently denied. It is now expected that the controversies will be laid to rest.
