Osborne Umahi, son of the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi has purchased a form to contest the chairmanship position in Ohaozara Local Government Area, in the upcoming Local Government Elections in Ebonyi State.
Osborne was among the aspirants endorsed by Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State as the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidates for the election in the 13 LGAs of the state.
NewsBits reports that Osborne’s endorsement was visited with reactions from political watchers across the state, with Umahi describing it as the height of appreciation by Governor Nwifuru. Osborne, was yesterday at the APC Secretariat on Water Works Road, in Abakaliki to purchase the thirty million naira form amidst fanfare as he was flanked by his retinue of supporters.
Even as he turned down the request to talk to journalists who were on hand to get his reactions after he purchased the form, the State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Mr Francis Ori described him as a worthy representative of the people.
According to him, “Osborne is a chip of the old block and will replicate his father’s wonders in Ebonyi as former governor, and as minister in Nigeria.”
“So, I want to assure you that the people of Ohaozara are solidly behind him. They are also ready to practically demonstrate that at the polls.”
