A total of 385 applicants from Enugu State have so far been successfully screened in the ongoing nationwide physical and credentials screening exercise for the recruitment of 50,000 General Duty and Specialist Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force at the Enugu State centre.
NewsBits, citing a statement from the state police spokesman, SP Daniel Ndukwe, reports that the screening exercise, jointly conducted by officers of the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission, commenced on March 9, 2026, at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess, Agbani Road, Enugu. Since its commencement, applicants from different Local Government Areas of the state have been screened according to their web portal–assigned dates, Ndukwe added.
Ndukwe said that the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, who inspected the screening centre, assessed the process and interacted with officials and applicants. Giwa emphasized the need for transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to established procedures, while urging the applicants to remain disciplined and compliant with all screening requirements as they pursue the opportunity to serve the nation, according to Ndukwe in the statement.
