At least two operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were attacked by gunmen in Enugu. Sources said the Civil Defence personnel were guarding the WTC housing estate in the Ogui New layout area of the Coal City.
Report said that the attack left the officials badly injured while the hoodlums escaped with the guns of the wounded operatives. It was learnt that the injured Civil Defence personnel were taken to a nearby hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
Public Relations Officer of the Civil Defence Corps, Enugu Command, Denny Manuel Iwuchukwu confirmed the incident. He told newsmen that the personnel were seriously injured in the attack and are currently hospitalized.
