The Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Enugu, yesterday, inaugurated a 6-man technical Committee to coordinate and monitor the installation of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) 10 kilometer broadband installation in the Institution.
While inaugurating the committee at Agbani, Enugu State, the Vice Chancellor of ESUT, Prof. Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, advised the members to grant the contractor appropriate access to the project site, and to provide suitable location for siting the control-room and equipment access points.
Other terms of reference handed to the Committee include: to provide security and ancillary support services, and to provide any other support which maybe required by the Contractor for the effective implementation of the project.
The Vice Chancellor noted that the project which is expected to be delivered in four months would provide internet services to the University Community and beyond due to the strength and capacity of the mast that would be erected.
He also congratulated the committee members and expressed confidence that they would deliver on their mandate. While speaking shortly after the inauguration, the Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Babatunde Olofin, thanked the University Management for finding them worthy to serve.
Prof. Olofin, who is also the Director of ICT Centre, ESUT, pledged to deliver on the terms of reference by ensuring that the project is completed in record time.
Other members of the committee include: the Director of Physical Planning, Prof. Frank Iloeje; Director of Works and Estates, Engr. Ezekwesili Onah; Director of ESUT-TETfund, Dr. Onyeka Egwuagu; PA to the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jonathan Okolie; and the Registrar’s representative, Paul Agu, who would serve as the Secretary of the Committee.
