Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has directed all medical doctors in the employ of the state’s Hospitals Management Board, to file in fresh applications, indicating their interest to retain their jobs.
A memo signed by the Director of Health in the state’s Ministry of Health, Umuahia, Dr. Hemuka Rock Biala, for the commissioner for Health, said the action was in line with the government’s vision to deliver efficient healthcare services to all Abians.
Dr. Biala said all the Doctors have until Friday, 21st of July 2023 to submit their new applications.
“I am directed to inform all Medical Doctors in the State Ministry of Health to re-apply expressing their interest on working with the Ministry indicating their willingness to work under the Ministry of Health, Umuahia and Hospitals Management Board,” he emphasised.
He explained that the measure was in line with the government’s vision of delivering healthcare services to all Abians. Dr. Biala warned, that all medical doctors affected the new directive, are expected to file in their applications on or before Friday July 21, 2023, to avoid sanction.
