Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new four-man management team for the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON). The appointments are pending confirmation by the Nigerian Senate led by Senator Godswill Akpabio.
The appointees, according to a release issued on Thursday by presidential spokesperson, Mr Ajuri Ngelale, include Gbenga Alade — Managing Director/CEO, who takes over from Mr Ahmed Lawan Kuru OFR; Aminu Ismail — Executive Director who retained his position. The other two newcomers who were also appointed Executive Directors include Mr Adeshola Lamidi who recently resigned his appointment from AMCON, and Mr Lucky Adaghe.
Ajuri said President Tinubu expects unflagging dedication, professionalism, and dutifulness from the new appointees so as to ensure that the operations of AMCON are more efficient, transparent, and in consonance with his determination to sanitize the nation’s financial system to maximize value and enhance investor confidence in the Nigerian economy.
Aside from AMCON, President Tinubu also approved new appointments for three agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. They are: Abraham Oshadami — Executive Commissioner, Technical Services; Rimini Makama — Executive Commissioner, Stakeholder Management and Opeyemi Dele-Ajayi — President/CEO, Digital Bridge Institute for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
The appointments at the Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited has Abiodun Attah as Executive Director, Technical Services; Aisha Abdullahi, Executive Director, Finance & Administration and Jaiyeola Awokoya, Executive Director, Marketing & Business Development.
New appointees for Galaxy Backbone (BB) Limited include Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju, Managing Director/CEO; Mohammed Sani Ibrahim, Executive Director, Finance & Corporate Services; Olusegun Olulade, Executive Director, Customer Centricity & Marketing, and Olumbe Akinkugbe, Executive Director, Digital Exploration & Technical Services.
