Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, has sounded the alarm over the hacking of his account by a fraudster who is now soliciting funds from his contacts.
According to a sample message shared by the Minister on his X account, the scammer is instructing recipients to transfer money to two accounts at Wema Bank. Lokpobiri has called on security operatives to identify the perpetrator and urged the public to be vigilant, warning that the monetary requests are not originating from him.

It has come to my attention that my account has been hacked, and the perpetrator is currently sending out fraudulent messages in my name, asking people to send money to the following bank details: Account Numbers: 9945807774 and 9949889589.
I want to make it explicitly clear that these messages are not from me, and I have no involvement in any such requests. I urge the public to disregard any such messages and not engage with the individual behind this. Please, verify any suspicious communication directly through legitimate means before taking any action.
I call on @wemabank to carry out due diligence on the aforementioned account to prevent further exploitation while appealing to the appropriate security agencies to intervene promptly and investigate this matter, as it poses a significant threat to those receiving these fraudulent messages.
