Senator Akpabio and Senator Natasha

The expected judgment on the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was stalled on Friday.

NewsBits recalls that the Federal High Court in Abuja, Justice Binta Nyako had fixed today, June 27 for the judgement on the suit filed by Akpoti-Uduaghan against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and others.

Natasha is challenging her suspension from the Senate. However, the matter could not proceed due to the absence of the judge. It has now been rescheduled for July 4. When the case last came up on May 13, Michael Numa, SAN, who appeared for Akpoti-Uduaghan, and lawyers to the defendants identified and adopted their processes in the suit.

The trial judge, on July 4, will also deliver judgment in the contempt claims filed by Akpabio and the embattled senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly

She will equally rule on the preliminary objection filed by all the defendants in the suit, including the Senate president, challenging the jurisdiction of the court.
