Low Turnout: PDP Sensitises 17 LGAs On Continuous Voter Registration

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State said it has completed its strategic sensitization initiative to reverse the low turnout being recorded in the ongoing Continuous Voter’s Registration Exercise in the state.

The party held the grand finale of the campaign at, Amagunze the headquarters of Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu yesterday with an appeal to the citizens to see collection of their cards as a top priority. The delegation had earlier carried out the sensitization campaign at Agbani, the Headquarters of Nkanu West Local Government Area.

Speaking at the event yesterday, the state Deputy chairman of the party, Steve Orurua, who represented the state party Chairman, Sir. Martin Chukwunweike emphasised the need for the masses to obtain their cards and “go out enmass to reward” the state Governor, Peter Mbah for the numerous works he has been doing in the state.

The Chairman noted that there was need for the people of Nkanu East and other local government to obtain their cards in order to preserve the present government in the state that has done so much for the masses.

He stressed that the governor has done so many things in the education, health and other sectors including building of smart schools and health centers across the wards.

While claiming that the state governor, Dr Mbah has been “possessed by the Spirit of former Premier of the defunct Eastern Region, Micheal Okpara”, the chairman said plans were underway for rail transportation.

He emphasized that the governor through his policies and commitment to the growth of the state has bridged the gap between the governed and the government. He, therefore, urged the people of the state to obtain their PVCs and reward the governor come 2027.

Also speaking, the chairman of Nkanu East and chairman of Algon in the state, Sydney Edeh noted that Nkanu East which was regarded as the most backward local government in the past is now the number one due to the numerous works of the governor.

He disclosed that before the visit of the delegation, they have been encouraging their people to go out out and get their PVCs so that they will reward the governor with their votes come 2027. He assured the governor that the local government was solidly behind him and urged him to be assured.

The SPA to the Governor on Political matters, Chief Hon. Frank Anioma, had in speech , lauded the Chairmen of the two local government councils for their show of love to the Governor and various projects they embarked upon.

He urged people to get their voter’s card registration and convert same into voting power come 2027.

Also speaking, State PDP Publicity Secretary, Enugu State, Uche Obute advised people to go and get their PVCs and work for the re-election of the governor come 2027.#
