The Forum of All Progressives Congress House of Assembly candidates (FAPCHAC), during the 2023 general elections in Enugu State, has expressed confidence in the Dr. Ben Nwoye-led caretaker committee to reform the party in the state.
NewsBits recalls that Dr. Nwoye, an Attorney at Law, and one-time Chairman of the party in the state before Barr. Ugochukwu Agballah came into office and was, however, on Friday inaugurated as the Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee in Enugu State. The development happened just a day after Barr Agballah and all the members of the State Working Committee were sacked.
Equally, as reported earlier, Governor Peter Mbah would be leading Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members into the APC next week.
Commenting on the development in a statement, the ex-Assembly candidates said it was a new dawn for the APC in Enugu State. The statement reads inter alia:
“The forum of APC House of Assembly candidates during the 2023 general elections in Enugu State profoundly appreciates and thanks the National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party, the APC, for finally arresting the drift that had become the lot of the party in Enugu State under the Barr. Ugochukwu Agballa-led executive by dissolving them.”
“The forum is further gratified by the quality of persons appointed to constitute the caretaker committee, ranging from the chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye (the Archbishop), Rt. Hon. Eugene Odo (the secretary), Dr. C. N. Nwafor, Dr. Oby Ajih (the woman Jagaban), Peter Chime (the Youth leader), our colleague, Engr. Obinna Ekeh and the Amazon from Abor, HE, Ambassador Akuabata Njeze.These are tested people with proven commitment to the ideals of the party.”
“The forum heartily congratulates the committee members on their well-deserved appointment, especially the chairman and the secretary, who were the generals in the struggle to free the party from external stranglehold.”
“We have no doubt that the members of the committee will turn the party away from the abyss where the dissolved executive was drifting it into.”
“The forum further pledges its loyalty and support to the caretaker committee and urges all APC members in Enugu state to support the committee for a better and election-winning APC in Enugu state.”
“Our party is back on track.”
