Nnamdi Kanu: Abia Govt Gives Details Of Otti’s Visit To IPOB Leader In Sokoto

Abia State government has confirmed that Governor Alex Otti visited the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnandi Kanu, in Sokoto Correctional Centre.

He was accompanied in the visit by Abia State Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna (SAN), Kanu’s younger brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, Ferdinand Ekeoma, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, as well as top officials of the Sokoto State government.

The confirmation came from a press release issued by Ekeoma, Sunday night.

According to the Abia State government, Governor Otti, while discussing with Nnandi Kanu during the visit, encouraged him to remain calm but strong, assuring that the engagements he started over two years ago, which the IPOB leader has been aware of, have been intensified in spite of what happened.

The statement quoted the Governor as telling Kanu to “remain calm but strong, as the issue will be resolved administratively

“Governor enjoined Kanu to remain calm but strong, assuring that the issue will be resolved administratively and that Mazi Kanu will regain his freedom.

“The Governor Otti expressed joy that the Sultan of Sokoto is on the same page with him on the need for Kanu’s freedom and de-escalation of tension.”

The Abia State government further said that Nnamdi Kanu, during the Governor’s visit, was all smiles and in high spirits, and thanked Otti for visiting him.

“The IPOB leader told Governor Otti that he, Kanu, is only interested in good governance and anything that could better the lot of the people, and prayed God to continue to be with the Governor and his team as they serve the people of the state”, the Abia government said.
